Swire Blue Ocean secures MHI Vestas Seagreen deal

The project will be Scotland’s largest offshore windfarm and is located 27 km off the east coast of Scotland. Swire Blue Ocean expects to commence the installation of 114 V164-10 MW turbines in the second half of 2021. The site is a challenging one, in deep water, and will make use of monopile foundations.

Swire Blue Ocean chief commercial officer Jacob Gregersen said: “We look forward to working with our partners to develop and execute this exciting project at what is a complex site. Operating on difficult sites is one of our key competences.”

Over the course of the project, Swire Blue Ocean will be working in close collaboration with MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, SSE Renewables and Total.

SSE Renewables has entered into an agreement to sell Total a 51% stake in Seagreen 1.
