Damen delivers Irish tug and gains a fresh order

Damen Shipyards Group has gained a tug order and delivered one in the northern European market. Damen delivered azimuth stern drive (ASD) tug Strathfoyle for safe and efficient harbour assistance operations at Foyle Port, in Northern Ireland.

Strathfoyle is an ASD 2310 tug equipped with an aft winch and a deck crane to widen the scope of its harbour and salvage duties. Foyle Port is at the south-west end of Lough Foyle and its primary cargos are bulk goods arriving at the Lisahally Terminal and oil products through the LSS Oil Terminal. Strathfoyle was built at Damen Shipyards Changde and has a bollard pull of around 50 tonnes.

Meanwhile, Dutch tug and workboat company Herman Senior ordered a Multi Cat 2712 that will be launched and christened Panda on 23 March this year. It will be suitable for a wide range of tasks. Panda will have a bollard pull of 32 tonnes and two 290-tonne cranes on board with a lifting capacity of 11.5 tonnes at 16.5m.
